Ways to Pray – Only One Way

May 24, 2011

There are endless resources offering techniques, rituals, and even objects illustrating the ways to pray. Judging from the extensive array of books, radio programs, and websites that address praying, one desire continues to endure through the centuries, “Lord, teach us to pray . . .” (Luke 11:1). In our relationship with the Creator, we long to keep our communication with the Lord personal and true. The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) provides Jesus’ response as the way to achieve that communication with the Father. Since individuals are most familiar with the King James Version, or its musical counterpart, let’s consider each verse of Jesus’ prayer:

“Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.”When adoration is expressed, aprayer of worshipis offered. God receives our highest esteem (1 Chronicles 16:29;Isaiah 6:3). As an adoring child, we center our attention on our Father’s holiness and magnificence.

“Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven.” As we familiarize ourselves once again with WHO we are speaking to, we acknowledge God’s authority in aprayer of submission. This way of praying is crucial if we desire answered prayer (1 John 5:14). Submission to God’s authority requires that we humble ourselves, knowing that His will may differ from our personal desires (2 Chronicles 7:14-15). Yet we choose to be obedient to His will (Luke 22:41-42). The greatest prayer of submission was modeled through Jesus Christ.

Ways to Pray – What to Say
“Give us this day, our daily bread.”Of all the ways of praying, the prayer of supplication (earnest request), is the most utilized. Critical illness, financial distress, or any dire circumstance requires assurance that God is able to rescue us (1 John 3:21-22). The prayer of supplication may be agonizing as we attempt to convey our suffering (Luke 22:44). There will also be times when we desire God’s protection, wisdom, and peace, assured that we rest securely in His care (1 Peter 5:7).

“And forgive us our sins, as we forgive our debtors.”There are two universal needs characteristic to man — to be forgiven and to improve oneself, becoming a better person in the process. In response to our awareness of our sinful nature, we offer aprayer of repentanceto our Heavenly Father (Romans 3:23-26). As we receive God’s acceptance through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, we recognize the necessity of forgiveness and repentance (Matthew 18:21-35).

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”God never tempts us, nor does He isolate us from facing decisions (1 Corinthians 10:13,James 1:12-15). A prayer of deliverance not only requires attitude, but demands action. Jesus faced temptation on several occasions (Matthew 4:1-11,16:23,27:38-44), and with a submissive attitude, acted in obedience to God. In a prayer of deliverance, we are affirming that God truly is our Deliverer from all forms of evil (Romans 5:10;2 Timothy 4:18).

Ways to Pray – Child’s Play
“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.”For those who know that they arechildren of God, the anticipation of spending eternity with Him is glorious (2 Corinthians 5:1-5).

As we pray with adoration, recognizing the authority of our Heavenly Father, we rest in the assurance that His children are His highest priority. God’s unconditional grace and mercy guarantee our acceptance through Jesus Christ. The prayer of faith acknowledges all that the Everlasting Father was, is, and will be as promised in His Word. And with our “amen,” we affirm that Our Father is trustworthy.

Child-like faith is all that God desires in the way we pray. Don’t worry about how you phrase your prayer. It’s your voice that God longs to hear

Why Do the Nations Rage?

March 29, 2011

Why Do the Nations Rage?

People imagine vain things!  The Kings of the earth set themselves and Rulers take counsel together, against Your Anointed. They say they want to break us, what binds us together, and break away from the restraints of Your Holy Spirit that is in us. That holier than thou feeling they hate to see You in “OUR” lives.

In Heaven the Saints will laugh in awe of their foolishness.

Tell them how angry they make us and the trouble they bring that is so displeasing. You anoint and set up Your King upon Zion’s holy hill. Calvary covers it all.

We are named to “BE” adopted as sons through Your One and only Son who has chosen us to “BE” here in Your presence. To Pray as He taught us To Pray.

You are not willing that any perish but that everyone change their mind and direction in coming to You.

You said that Your house shall “BE” a house of prayer for all Nations, an inheritance and possession to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Forgive and forget what breaks us. “OUR” sin is ever before us. We owe You an attitude of gratitude with fear and trembling for what Your son had to go through for us.

May we not find Your anger for the trouble we get ourselves into, but may we trust You to deliver us from the evil one. (Ps.2)

You are still in charge and Your power is mightier than their sword. Your mercy endures forever and gives You glory!

Heaven is Home

January 6, 2011
Heaven Is Home (PRAY-ers 23rd, Psalm) I go to prepare a place for you.

The Lord, “OUR” Father, is My Shepherd, He has everything I need. I AM named as one in His pasture, grazing in His fields. Resting in His Sacred promises, set aside to “BE” special.

A secret hiding place of quiet, still strength restored by His will to remain in His pathway to “BE” good enough as one of His sheep.

He gives step by step Word to day through any valley that would separate from His gaze. I AM not afraid of straying for He is with me, guiding all the way. A poke here and a prod there gives comfort that He cares.

Even those that would cause chaos can see we are very special to Him, filling “OUR” cups to overflowing with goodness and love tracks across His field.

Surely they know this will last forever and can nothing about it. All the days of my life are numbered (28,600 for me) and I will dwell in the house of the Lord, “OUR” Father, forever!

To Pray is Effective

November 19, 2010
To Pray is Effective  “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
The Bible teaches us the power of prayer.
We are to pray. Jesus said, we are to pray always and not to faint. Paul said we are to pray without ceasing. Paul said we are to pray always with all prayer and supplication. God answers prayer, very specifically and very directly.
We serve the Lord in our prayers, but only if our prayers are in accord with His design for prayer. “We do not know how to pray as we ought.” How are we to pray?…was the question. “Lord, teach us to pray.”
Jesus doesn’t say, “Here is a prayer you should pray.” Jesus says, “When you pray, say…” and then gives us this prayer.
“When you pray, say this, ‘Our Father, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, give us each day our daily bread and to forgive us our sins for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us and lead us not into temptation.’”
Prayer is effective because there is a record of its effectiveness revealed in Scripture. But beyond that there is the explicit statement of the Word of God itself that prayer is effective. In James chapter 5 and verse 16 it says, “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Further it says, giving illustration of the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availing much.

The Great Escape

November 17, 2010
The Great Escape How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?

“OUR” Father You are in “OUR” thoughts, in “OUR” prayers and in “OUR” “BE”ing. We cannot escape You.

There is no other we can turn to. We must “BE” about “OUR” Father’s business. (His house is a house of prayer) We can bloom where we are planted. The gift to blossom and flourish in “OUR” garden of praise.

Signs of the time are everywhere. We will not wilt in the heat of “OUR” day. We have learned that whatever state we are in to remain faithful and find joy in Your forgiveness.

We owe one another the gift of life that You have given us. Show us how to give in spite of the terror that surrounds us but in the trouble “BE” able to find a way to escape.

Your directions are right and it is Your right to rule in the “How To” bringing You credit for “OUR” Great Escape from the cares of this world.

FOSTER GOD’S ECONOMY IN OUR SOCIETY by Magna Kultura for everyone

Do you believe that societal change is still possible? Do you believe that with God, nothing is impossible? As long as we live, and for as long as we believe that God is with us, better things are yet to come.

We believe that greater things are yet to come. And greater things are still to be done in our nation. As long as we believe… we have our own contributions to make, our own special talents to use. Let’s stand up for our country, with whatever contribution we can make — through time, talent, encouragement-support to those who are laboring to transform people and communities.

This is the time. This is our generation. The revolution is cultural — not political, not armed — the battle is in the minds. Let us transform people & communities. Then cities. And eventually, inspire the entire nation to rise … in fostering a Christian economy.

Our countries need God in the lives of our fellow-citizens. Everyone need Christ Jesus in their lives.

His Right To Rule

November 13, 2010

Your rules are right “OUR” Father created in us to “BE” citizens of a higher court. We’ve been given a name and title above all others to bring us into Your throne room. May we never ever tarnish that name.

Your Kingdom come to rule and reign in Majesty and might with Authority and power to restore Your rightful place here in America like it is in Heaven.

We will escape the tempters snare to entrap us who trust You. Your will “BE” complete in us in the here and now to prepare us a place in Your presence. May we “BE” busy about Your business of Your house of prayer.

Give us this day food for thought as daily bread feeds “OUR” hunger and thirsty for You to “BE” right-in-us. We desire just a Word of direction for this day’s path.

Thank You for forgiving when we stray off the pathway with “OUR” own agendas to “BE” somebody, but ruin Your image. We owe You a debt of gratitude for staying with us and not leaving us alone in this sinking ship.

We can see one another struggling with these same sins that hurt your image too. You can count on us to show them the same love You have shown unto us.

May we find a way of escape from the penalty of “OUR” National sin? We ask You to deliver us from the evil one who got us into this mess. He still stalks about as a wolf in sheep clothing, deceiving the nations. We are no fools to see what he is doing to destroy “OUR” Nation.

Yours is a Kingdom above the fray. It is powerful to know we don’t have to rely on borrowed riches because true glory is in the richness of Your grace, giving to us undeserved favor in Your sight.

“OUR” Lord’s Prayer Journal

November 13, 2010
“OUR” Lord’s Prayer Journal “When You pary say. . .”
What if Oprah had you on the book of the month club with your prayer journal and were asked to illustrate any effect the fervency of your daily meditation with the Almighty has made on your constant elite ideas and writing influenced?

Most of her books deal in novel fiction for the touchy feely crowd. Made them laugh or cry. You read their books and say “that’s right”; “that’s the way it is”, or “isn’t that wonderful”?, “She’s beautiful”, wishing that would be your experience. But now in your daily prayer journal you experience personal presence with the Almighty and what He is doing in your life that is real episodes poured out like fragrant, crushed spice. Much more different than fictitious romance novels is the quest for good fiction from a Christian worldview.

Could you say that over the years much availability in pursuit of private prayer time mattered? Practiced presence with the Almighty made any difference? How?

Your answer:

1. Personal effect in maintaining relationships with God and others you are praying for with commitments to them; “Our Father”, our spouse, our family, friends and neighbors. With response with what is happening in our Nation and around the world.

2. Effecting attitudes toward the Almighty and how you live out His life in what you do and say you will do. Our very “BE”ing. In essence, our existence.

3. In thinking, motivation to moral excellence and open to admit differences; pure, lovely, good virtues, praiseworthy thoughts.

One more thing; that the daily crushing in confession of who you admittedly pretend to “BE”, produces like spice fragrantly arising in a sweet aroma to God’s throne room and stays there. Our prayers do not evaporate. That’s why we wait and watch. Answers do come.

To Pray for “OUR” Nation

November 10, 2010
To Pray for “OUR” Nation To Pray Or Not To Pray is in Question.

“OUR” Father Your great army of Saints are assured of Your presence with confidence in who You are. We believe You create these impressions in “OUR” identity with You through acceptance of “BE”ing adopted to “BE” in Your Throne Room. That shows pure favor that comes from You on high to undeserving citizens of planet earth.

It is no wonder why we would love You and everybody else who has been born again into a Nation of believers where You rule and reign as “OUR” King. We stand amazed at the offering to bring us here to this place where we may adore all that it means to “BE” a child of the King.

Your right to rule is right. We can’t imagine what it would “BE” if we lived by men’s rules of order thinking that their rules are the right things to do? When we see this created a fight for “OUR” rights, we failed and have come to admit to avoid You brings tragedy. Without You “BE”ing “OUR” King we are doomed.

What would it take today to convince us to live by Your Word? We can only dream of what it would “BE” like living in a land where God’s economy is where everyone serves on another without charge or price that costs nothing in serving one another. Daily gifts of love from neighbor to neighbor with talents and enthusiasm to serve doing what we love doing.

Some tolerance may “BE” needed toward those too hesitant to participate. How can we ever repay what is due You in gratitude for what You have done for us in forgiving us “OUR” debts. It is the least we can do for others to watch and wait for them to come around to trust You too.

Father, You have the answer for freedom from fear of “BE”ing overwhelmed by trespasses that would destroy us. Show us how to escape so great disaster. May we not find difficulty in leaving behind what it is enticing us to “BE”against You and each other. Deliverance from the evil one would “BE” a great thing in history to make life worth the living.

“BE” “OUR” King with power from above. May we glow in the rays of Heaven forever.

Are We An Answer To Jesus’ Prayer?

November 10, 2010
We are an answer to Jesus’ prayer! Jesus prayers for us John 17
Location:      “OUR” Prayer Journal

When we say. . . “Our Father.”

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa.55:8,9)

Therefore: Do we understand our answers too our prayers the way we think? We didn’t even pray as we ought. (how, why or should)

Nevertheless:
Thy will be done – is it?
Thy Kingdom come – has it?
A Hallowed name – where?
Give us – greed and need met?
Forgive us – is guilt gone?
Lead us – are we in trouble?
Deliver us – can you stop sinning?
Should we continue this prayer?
Is it worthwhile to pray?
Does prayer our way depend on what we ask or think is successful in our praying?

Do we fear failure in praying? Should we look for answers to our prayers according to the way we think and feel? As we understand it; our way and our thoughts? Who else could answer our prayers? Are we really and answer to prayer? As Jesus prays for us?

Do we see “US” in answer to “OUR” prayer?
Does Faithfulness = Faith?
